
The evaluation of the application by the Baringo Great Rift Valley (BGRV) to become a UNESCO Global Geopark is underway. It is being undertaken by two experts, Dr. Cristian Ciobanu and Dr. Fasoulas Charalampos. Accompanied by partners and stakeholders of the BGRV Geopark initiative, the team has visited site of geological and cultural interest. The sites include Riwo Road Cut, Simot Twin Falls, Kapcheptoo View point, Paka Caldera and Kipsaraman Museum and Ling’ok foot prints. The five-day field assessment will end at the Mogotio Aspiring Geopark office on 28th August, 2026.
